Who is CBR?
Cord Blood Registry® (CBR®) is the world’s largest family newborn stem cell company. Since 1992, parents have entrusted them to store more than 700,000 cord blood and cord tissue samples. As industry leaders advancing the science of newborn stem cells, CBR has helped over 450 families use their samples for established transplant medicine and experimental regenerative applications.
Who is California Cryobank?
California Cryobank is the largest donor sperm and egg bank in the world. For more than 40 years, they have specialized in cryogenic preservation, and through FamilyCord, have been committed to stem cell preservation for the past two decades. Why is this a good change?
This is a new chapter for CBR. Not only does it mean greater potential for your family’s precious newborn stem cells, it will help us continue developing world-class cryogenic freezing standards and state-of-the-art stem cell processing techniques.
Just as important, it will create more opportunities to strengthen our company mission of advancing the science of cord blood and cord tissue stem cells.
What happens to FamilyCord clients?
There will be no disruptions to services. You may notice that we will be operating under the CBR brand, but you’ll still be provided with the same world-class service you’re used to.
Is CBR stable?
Absolutely. We are a highly sought after business for many reasons, including our continued growth, financial strength, and our unique opportunity to provide healthier futures for families through the advancement of newborn stem cells.
CBR continues to be the industry leader and as a part of California Cryobank, who is owned by GI Partners, we have a strong financial backing. With this acquisition, CBR has found an excellent fit, bringing together the best of two life science companies.
Will service change for CBR clients?
Nope. Our lab will remain in Tucson, AZ, and your samples will remain safely stored.
